Biggest communication group in the Baltics on the way

Idea Group acquires leading Lithuanian agency

Idea Group is expanding energetically, acquiring the agencies of Publicum Group, Lithuania’s leading communication group. The Baltics’ largest communication concern represents the global Havas integrated marketing communication agency and will also operate under the Havas brand in Lithuania.

After reorganizing and unifying the identity of the existing structure, Havas Group will start its Lithuanian operations at the start of 2018 after receiving permit from market regulators. Havas Group’s CEO will be Šarūnas Mikelevičius, who is currently director of Havas Media. Idea Group partner Mark Eikner and Publicum Group partner Ričardas Jarmalavičius will stay on as active partners in Havas Group’s management. The new group will employ over 100 people.

“The merger between two leading communication agencies is a logical step considering the challenges of the market,” said Mark Eikner. “Strong professionals and innovative communication solutions must be available for clients in a single point, from a team working together.”

Ričardas Jarmalavičius said Havas will be the best integrated group in its field in the Baltic states. “Contemporary research and planning methods and tools, strategic inputs, creative and innovative technical solutions – all these function effectively when the team works together in united fashion,” said Jarmalavičius.

Havas Group will start offering all integrated communication services: from market consultation, ˇ relations, media planning, advertising and e-commerce, among others.

Havas was founded in Paris in 1835 and is now one of the world’s biggest communication agencies, with a turnover upwards of 2.2 billion euros last year. The group is in more than 100 countries and employs 20,000.

Publicum Group launched in 2001 and joins five agencies in Lithuania. Its 2016 sales revenue exceeded 8.6 million euros.

Founded in 1996, Idea Group consists of 15 companies in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Its turnover is approximately 30 million euros. After reorganization and unification of the structure, Idea Group’s Baltic companies employ over 250 people. The planned turnover for 2018 is more than 40 million euros.
